Mayor's Message

The City of Vernon is committed to assisting the South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) and California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) protect the public health and safety of our City's 55,000 workers, 115 residents, and hundreds of thousands of residents in our nearby communities that may be affected by potentially toxic or harmful air emissions from the Exide Technologies lead battery recycling facility located at 2700 S. Indiana Street in Vernon.

Through our City's Health and Environmental Control Department, we have been doing our part to ensure workers and residents in Vernon and elsewhere remain safe.
