William Davis, Councilman

Councilman Davis was born in Manila, Philippines and came to the United States in 1969, becoming a resident of the City Vernon in 1970. Councilman Davis was appointed to fill-in a vacant seat of the City Council in May of 1981, and was elected to his first four-year term in April of 1984. Councilman Davis retired from Southern California Edison in 1996 after completing 28 years of service. During his tenure at Southern California Edison, one of the largest electric utilities in the nation, Councilman Davis held numerous positions - working as a lineman, then a foreman and finally as a service planner.

Councilman Davis has not only served the industrial community of Vernon as a City Councilman since 1981, but he has also represented his community by serving as a Board Member of area organizations:

• Los Angeles County Sanitation - 23rd District since 1981.
• Gateway Cities Council of Governments – since 2003.
• Southern California Assoc. of Governments (SCAG).
