
William Davis, Mayor Pro Tempore
Mayor Pro Tempore Davis was born in Manila, Philippines and came to the United States in 1969, becoming a resident of the City Vernon in 1970. Mayor Pro Tempore Davis was appointed to fill-in a vacant seat of the City Council in May of 1981, and was elected to his first four-year term in April of 1984. Mayor Pro Tempore Davis retired from Southern California Edison in 1996 after completing 28 years of service. During his tenure at Southern California Edison, one of the largest electric utilities in the nation, Mayor Pro Tempore Davis held numerous positions - working as a lineman, then a foreman and finally as a service planner.
Mayor Pro Tempore Davis has not only served the industrial community of Vernon as a City Councilman since 1981, but he has also represented his community by serving as a Board Member of area organizations:
