City of Vernon Senate Bill 1383 Implementation Plan

As you may know, Senate Bill (SB) 1383 (Lara, Chapter 395, Statutes of 2016) is the most significant waste reduction mandate to be adopted in California in the last 30 years. SB 1383 requires the state to reduce organic waste disposal by 75% and increase edible food recovery by 20 percent by 2025. The regulation has significant policy and legal implications requiring the City to make changes pertaining to its solid waste management program.

The Department of Health and Environmental Control would like to invite you to one of two City of Vernon SB 1383 town hall meetings to share information on the City's implementation plan to meet the mandates of the regulation.
